There is an old saying "The best time to buy was last year". This is true when you look at a long term share price chart, such as the CBA chart shown above, from left to right.
In reality you can buy anytime unless you are a trader. Try to look at the price chart from right to left instead keeping in mind that 5 years down the track your purchase price will be relatively cheap.
This way you don't have to worry about timing when buying shares so that you can concentrate on stock selection.

Interesting concept which takes the 'timing factor' out of the decisions to buy a stock. The key word is long term.
